Contemplations

Two contemplations in one!

8/18/2015

Picture
Two days of thought rolled into a mishmash of contemplation:

Contemplating the dilemma of fear based experience and what I call shadow experiences of today.
How to work in the light and not disregard the shadow. How to acknowledge it but not dance with it ( get too close to entangle).

I hear people say just stay in love, oh man how difficult that is for those who have never even experienced love ( not even from their parents).
So what to do, how could we assist to build a better world ( be it an illusion or not) ?

I have heard myself say and write regularly don't feed the monster!
So again easy to say but what to do instead?

Well if what we feed grows, feed what you want, water the flowers you like.

Ok, so those that know me know that I come from a strange mix of background with a hint of activism, warrior-Ess, military service/ training.

These are not the ways to change, I don't see we can change the way things are by doing or being how others have treated us (that we didn't like).

Friends in Africa have been speaking about taking back the country and throwing the whites out, with violence if necessary. Hmm just don't see that as the answer, you then become an aspect of that what you hate. I don't have all the answers, I just ponder and work on what may be a shift in new directions.

What I do know is The Monster is on it's way out and old systems are in a state of collapse. This is great, to move forward in new ways the old has to be discarded. This doesn't mean it will be comfortable. Ask any one who has seen great creation, a mother- if birth was comfortable, an artist working on a master work, a writer finishing a book, an athlete training for their personal best etc..

I have been looking into how shifts can be created without becoming part of the shadow or monster (system) or or malicious acts.

There is a man in the US who went about a peaceful action of planting veggie gardens and fruit trees where ever he could. Often these trees and plants would be removed by authorities, he would continue to plant. When there was the big action against Monsanto he didn't attend, instead he gathered hundreds of people and continued, he planted land with food bearing plants. Acres and acres of land. These can feed the local people fairly organically.

Ok this is not perfect, but what I am suggesting is something between non violent action and Peaceful protest.
Love in Action!
What would that look like?
Well if you hate war are you actually feeding it?
If you hate violence do you feed that,
If you are despising someone are you giving them your energy and part of your mind?

What can you do in your own backyards so to speak, that would be this Love in Action?

Something I pondered this week was to do with a protester in London to stop the abuse of children by the system (adoption and fostercare ). I spoke with this man for half hour or so, while others stumbled over themselves to see Mel Gibbson who was there being interviewed.

This man (Mark) explained the cause, going onto express the trauma he experienced hearing these children's and parents stories. They were peacefully gaining signatures to provide open court cases to provide transparency into child protection cases. We discussed how assisting the parents, and cycles of removal from foster children who grow up and have own kids removed. Such a massive issue,

Love in Action!

Put energy into the children's needs, support them, support the parents to get on track, put efforts into longterm programs of intensive supports for children. Find more effective ways to treat trauma and abuse to stop the cycling.

But do not feed the system with your energy!!!

Why do we burn out, we feed what we hate in the world with our energy. We become depleted and end up with compassion fatigue. We stop caring...

What if we all looked at just one thing in our daily lives and did 'love in Action' put our energy into building up what we need in the world.

I know this is a little heavy, those who know the many ancient texts (most popular would be the Mayan calendar). These tell us there is an ending, Yey I say!

The end is of a life as we knew it, again Yes!

A death re-birth!

The breaking down of what dose not resonate with these incoming frequencies. The form of matter, the monster systems and companies will need to change the ways they work, we have seen it already. We have all felt it, even those who are closed eyed to it around them.

What is not in resonance will fall away, this can be considered like an earth awakening. As she shifts into or has been shifting into the new global colour (Indigo, from Violet) she is moving forward in a new way. Like the death rebirth process of the human awakening and activation.

The Violet age was about the breaking away of things that no longer fit, or worked well. Many of us fought the process. Think about you life the past few years. What have you been trying to save, or fix?
Is it possible that what was/is happening is a growing stage and that issue, job, relationship etc just needs to go on without you.

The next few years to come are the adjustment phase and we human generally don't like that, we like structure and control, we like to know what is next and to feel comfortable.

But you know growth comes from the discomfort, change is made in these times of uncertainty. I have a strong feel that it is not about making massive sweeping change, but prepare and look at what is not working, does it need to be shed off?

The earth is in this very phase, move with her. Shed and clear with her, be open to the new birth of what life here on earth could be! (and is for those who moved through).

The Indigo times, are for the way showers to guide us, they have been clearing the way for many years for not the matriarchal or patriarchal, but for balance. The merging of sciences and metaphysics, what I see as the time of the mergence or emergence of the science, arts and technology.
It is the Indigo time that has and will assist in the shifting of the systemic monsters and help in the understanding of the process.

No fear, as Mambo says. Or was that one of those shoe companies?

There is stretching and breaking through in every birth, the struggle produces strength. Did you know that if you assist a bird to hatch out of an egg too soon it will die of be very weak. The struggle is part of turning on and connecting all parts of our systems.

I am excited about the changes,
When you feel fear find a way to come back into love or at least like. Fear will feed what you fear, and the cycle of what you may be running from continues. How can we turn and stand tall?

Look for the ties that bind you, and find SOMETHING to like or be pleasantly surprised by, such as ' wow you really have mastered manipulation'!

What have those people or institutions mastered? That is something ! Think about it, if that is their role in life, lesson to learn and they have mastered it. Who are we to judge?
Mastery takes all kinds of skill and determination, 'like' the determination.

This is a little flippant, however the message is find a speck of something, anything you can grow in goodness. Water it.

We don't have to interact with it, just see it, find the aspect you think you could like and do something in direct response of Love in Action, and move on.

Staying in a focussed energy of hate, anger, frustration etc, will produce more of what you despise. so maybe there is something here, something to this concept of love in Action.

So I am off to ponder what my love in Action will be for this week....

Intentional Creativity, and how it brings transformation.

What is the Intentional Creativity Movement? The founder of the Movement Shiloh Sophia explains "it is a movement moving through our world right now with a vision of healing. A movement where the individual and their story can be transformed from the inside out- not from an outside source or external medicine/healer. This transformation happens by the choice of the one telling the story in the first place. The one who is at cause for changing it in a way that works for the creation of their lives. Through choosing to create with intention, we become empowered to be the author of our future".

Intentional Creativity uses the Muse (the voice of guidance that feeds you rather than feeds off you), we go on a visioning journey together to find her and gather the medicine, gifts, tools, or knowledge she has for us. The canvas is the portal through which we make a more physical contact, painting and writing are the tools used to assist the Muse to emerge into being.

The core teaching is about bringing in your whole self through your intention so that you can live fully liberated into the being you are here to express in the world.

The painting becomes a power generator through every thought and inquiry being infused into the painting. It is a quantum reality that when we bring our mindfulness to something that it actually lights up. As you light up you are lighting up the field that we are all part of and hence we light the earth.

The image will hold the space for the experience, all our life experiences are held in story. We are generally not conscious of how we hold these stories, what we make it mean or where it is stored in our field.

Memory exists inside the space around us in the field, and not in the brain. When we paint we go into the field around us and access the story. We ask for that story through intention to be moved out of the space where it is and into the prepared space of the canvas.

The process can be used for purely a painting experience,  to relax, as spiritual practice, a healing tool, or for great transformational work. It is about your Intention!

To look at this process with more of a scientific mind, I have used these methods when working with adults and children for recreation and for deep trauma work.
With Trauma I have seen children move through things they have no way to verbally express and this becomes behavioural (they act out how they feel to show you, or to make you feel how they feel).

The process of taking an inquiry or a piece of the story (your story) and writing it onto paper or canvas - this doesn't have to be words and many people including myself may use patterns or symbols, especially if there are others around and it doesn't feel safe to write out in a sentence. This is activating the lineal structured primarily left functions of the brain.

The next step is to move it, so paint or scribble over it. The use of large sweeping strokes not only feels great, but it gets movement to the body, initiates contralateral crossover movements (like Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)) great for energy and physiological structures while initiating the more prominent functions of the right brain. We are whole brain creatures, so this is a simplistic explanation of a complex organ, but I think you get the idea.

The moving back and forth between the use of, writing, movement, and creativity sees a whole brain affect occurs. This whole brain affect impacts the Amygdala in a fantastic way, it calms it!!

Why so great, well the Amygdalae are like the fire alarm in the brain, when it feels a threat it activates and eventually floods the system from whats called the HPA (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal) axis with chemical concoctions, including hormones and hijacks the rational brain. Over time these chemicals that are to assist us to fight a threat, Run or freeze (so not to be seen and harmed), they end up becoming overproduced and in excess and then we can see these hormones as toxins that start to impact our health and wellbeing.

The Amygdalae helps store memories or perceptions of emotions, so if there is a troubling story or emotion and we pair it with creativity in so doing we defuse to connection and that piece of the story (these are tiny pieces of story) no longer trigger the same emotional response it had previously. What a difference this makes to life, being able to modulate emotions.

To calm the amygdalae and stop the cascade of knock on effects in our physiology is a major win in working with Stress and Trauma.  Not to mention simple relaxation and joyful experiences, Why wouldn't we see transformation!

Different thinking: What if I AM Lady Anne Conway?

8/5/2015

What if I am Lady Anne Conway? What would I be doing with her ways of knowing in these current times? Am I wasting my capacity to learn, grow, make significant change in the world?

In a holographic universe there are no boxes for us to think inside of, and the potential expansion of what we are capable of is infinite. Look at the great scientific / philosophical thinkers of the past, and those with the courage to think big and share their findings even with the potential risk to their lives and livelihood as they knew it. What is common to all the revolutionary influences in history is a willingness to think differently To have courage and be bold in our thinking and take a stand for different thinking that challenges modern science and philosophical perspectives.

Some worldview may seem obvious, however the turning of a collective cultural perceptions and values is no small task when much of society can be resistant to change.

From the shoulders of great thinkers of the past I am willing to open my mind to contemplate to research new ideas and think differently. This may be in the face of great challenge, ridicule and risk however this is my investigation. I am contemplating the stepping out to discover and share discoveries, some may be confronting to established ways of knowing, some confronting to myself. I take my leap from the shoulders of such people as Lady Anne.

Who was Lady Anne I hear you ask.
Well, let me introduce her to you.

Lady Anne Conway (née Finch) (1631-1679) is known to be the author of a single treatise of philosophy. This was published anonymously in Amsterdam in 1690 in Latin and translated back into English and printed in London in 1692 as The Principles of the Most Ancient and Modern Philosophy. The other source for her philosophical activities is her correspondence with Henry More.

Anne Conway's treatise is a work of Platonist metaphysics in which she derives her system of philosophy from the existence and attributes of God. The framework of Conway's system is a tripartite ontological hierarchy of ‘species’, the highest of which is God, the source of all being. Christ, or ‘middle nature’, links God and the third species, called ‘Creature’. God as the most perfect being is infinitely good, wise and just. A principle of likeness links God and creation. Since God is good and just, his creation too is good and just. Created substance, like God, consists of spirit, but, unlike God, is constituted of particles called monads.

All created substance is living, capable of motion and perception Anne Conway denies the existence of material body as such, arguing that inert corporeal substance would contradict the nature of God, who is life itself. Incorporeal created substance is, however, differentiated from the divine, principally on account of its mutability and multiplicity even so, the infinite number and constant mutability of created monads constitute an obverse reflection of the unity, infinity, eternity and unchangeableness of God. The continuum between God and creatures is made possible through ‘middle nature’, an intermediary being, through which God communicates life, action, goodness and justice. ‘Middle nature’, partakes of the nature of both God and creation, and is therefore both a bridge and a buffer between God and created things. Thus, although she conceives of created substance as a continuum, and understands mutability as capacity for increased perfection, she sought to avoid the charge of pantheism.

The spiritual perfectionism of Anne Conway's system has dual aspect: metaphysical and moral. On the one hand all things are capable of becoming more spirit-like, that is, more refined qua spiritual substance. At the same time, all things are capable of increased goodness. She explains evil as a falling away from the perfection of God, and understands suffering as part of a longer term process of spiritual recovery. She denies the eternity of hell, since for God to punish finite wrong-doing with infinite and eternal hell punishment would be manifestly unjust and therefore a contradiction of the divine nature. Instead she explains pain and suffering as purgative, with the ultimate aim of restoring creatures to moral and metaphysical perfection. Anne Conway's system is thus not just an ontology and but a theodicy.

Anne Conway presents her system as an answer to the dominant philosophies of her time. Several chapters of her treatise are devoted to a refutation of the dualism of Henry More, and Descartes. (She does, however, express her admiration for Descartes' physics). She also takes issue with Hobbes and Spinoza, whom she charges with material pantheism, which confounds God and created substance.

Anne Conway's concept of substance probably owes much to Platonism and Kabbalism (which, in the version she encountered was heavily Platonised). Her thinking also shows the impact of the teachings of the heterodox Christian theologian, Origen, who was much admired by her teacher, Henry More. As a theodicy and monadology, her system anticipates the philosophy of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who owned a copy of her treatise (probably a gift to him by their mutual friend, Van Helmont), and who received her work favourably. However, although she was unusual as a female philosopher of the seventeenth century, by virtue of the fact that her philosophy achieved publication, the anonymity of her work has ensured that she has suffered the same neglect that has been the lot of most pre-modern female philosophers.

AM I Lady Anne Conway?
Yes I AM, and from a connected worldview so are you.

Stay tuned for the next great and different thinker!
